Eat
The View, our 100-seater restaurant is, quite simply, an inspirational space. To one side its floor to ceiling windows reveal the stunning view across Rutland Water to the hills beyond, and to the other a view of our courtyard, landscaped with tumbling wisteria and jasmine-covered pergolas, specimen trees, and plants set in a circle of contemporary corten steel planters.
The restaurant, with its vaulted, cedar-clad ceiling and striking stone fireplace is furnished in natural materials with a central canopy of green provided by a large olive tree. Choose to sit in a snug corner beside the fireplace or enjoy time with friends at one of our large 6-seater tables. A limited number of tables are available for guests with well-behaved dogs (subject to availability) for whom we provide dog beds and water bowls.
Our extensive menu covers breakfast, brunch and lunch with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options catered for. Each dish is freshly prepared to order by our kitchen, and great pride is taken in sourcing as many local ingredients as possible. If you simply want coffee and cake, you’re most welcome. A broad selection of delicious cakes, pastries and scones, baked here in our on-site bakery, are available throughout the day.
The View is open 9.00am – 5.00pm Monday – Saturday and 9.30am – 4.00pm on Sunday. Last food orders are taken one hour before closing with last drinks orders 30 minutes after that.
Alternatively, for a light bite and hot and cold drinks, visit The Hut in our courtyard. Opening times vary according to the season and are weather dependent.

Please note that we’re unable to take table reservations for parties of less than eight. For parties of eight or more we require at least 48 hours notice. To enquire about availability please email us at info@rutlandnursery.co.uk.
PAGER SYSTEM
We’re incredibly happy that so many people want to come and eat with us, but due to that popularity it’s sometimes not possible to get you seated straight away. So we operate a pager system, which works very successfully. The benefit is you can browse the rest of the site to your heart’s content, or even soak up the sunshine in our beautiful courtyard on a lovely day. Once your table is ready we will alert your pager and it will vibrate and light up to tell you it’s time to head back to the restaurant.
