Description: Halesia Carolina, also known as Carolina Silverbell or Snowdrop tree is a small deciduous flowering tree or spreading shrub. It has a broad, rounded crown and is typically less than 10m tall. A magnificent display is created in late spring, when pendent clusters of white, bell-shaped flowers appear. These emerge at the same time as the fresh green leaves, which will later turn buttery shades in autumn before they fall. Four-winged, brownish, nut-like fruits appear in the autumn and often persist well into the winter.
Halesia Growing Tips: Preference to lime-free soil. Will grow well in moist drained soil with shelter from cold winds.
Height and Spread (after 20 years): 8m x 4m
