An Evening with Frances Quinn:

Enjoy a special evening in The View at Rutland Nursery with designer baker and Great British Bake Off winner, Frances Quinn.

Frances is renowned for her creativity and was the inimitable winner of The Great British Bake Off 2013. Mixing together her background in design with her love of baking, she is able to create stunning, inventive and unforgettable bakes. From creating shortbread piano chords for Jools Holland to Florentines for Florence and the Machine and a giant CLUB biscuit for Bombay Bicycle Club, Frances has worked with many big names including Fortnum & Mason, Soho House, Radio 2, Cadbury, M & S, Nike and The Tate, bringing her unique brand of baking flair to events, festivals, workshops and special occasions. Frances has appeared on Saturday Kitchen, ITV’s This Morning, and her own YouTube show ‘Baking Playlist’ a blend of music and baking, with guests from the music world including Sea Girls, Dodie, Jack Garratt, The Wombats and Rae Morris.

During this intimate evening, Frances will share insights from her time on GBBO, what she has done since, and her unique approach to design and cake decoration. She will demonstrate a variety of techniques including piping icing, decorating with fresh flowers, creating her signature orange blossom marzipan bees and adding simple yet striking sprinkles and edible confetti.

Following the talk, demonstration and Q&A session, you’ll have the chance to try out the techniques yourself, icing and decorating your own set of four finger sponges to take home, and craft your own marzipan bee.

Fizz will be served on arrival, and all guests will be entered into a prize draw to win some fantastic prizes—including a signature Frances Quinn cake.
